I'm Chris Cummings.

I paint things. I build things. I play things. I sing things. Sometimes I write things.

What do you ever say in these artist bios anyway?

I've dabbled with "artsy" stuff my whole life, mostly music and writing.

It wasn't until somewhere in my 40s when I took up painting to try to deal with some stressful things going on in my life.  The first paintings were...simple...to say the least, but I fell in love with it! I don't consider myself highly artistic but I've gotten a little better with it over time and I do enjoy it.

As far as woodworking, I grew up where my dad always had a shop and was always "piddlin'" with something.  As a teenager I built a pretty big skateboard half pipe in my back yard, so I always felt comfortable in a shop situation, but never really built anything "crafty."

Over the years, as I've gotten older I've explored woodworking more and more. About 2 years ago, I decided to give wood turning a try and found it was another artistic avenue I fell in love with.

I don't consider myself any kind of great artist, but I am thankful that people seem interested in some of the things I create, and I even sell something from time to time!
